Tommy’s Express Car Wash is cleaning up the Lowcountry.  A new name to Charleston area, Tommy’s Express has been cleaning cars and trucks for more than 50 years. The Holland, Michigan-based company has opened car washes in 90 locations, including three in the Carolinas. Four locations are slated to open in the Tri-County area alone. Tommy’s differs from other car washes in a variety of ways. It has a flat belt towing system which pulls dual-drive pickup trucks. Other wash systems feature a chain pull system that can only accommodate narrower vehicles. Tommy’s also has 18 blower units that facilitate drying a car or truck as it comes off the washing line. Red Bay Constructors will serve as the concrete contractor, providing concrete foundations and slab on grade under general contractor EV Construction.
